Life During this Time
War- During this time period wold war two broke out with it mainly being controlled by Hitler. America was not in the war at first but would help there allies. After the Pearl Harbor attack from Japan America soon joined the war to lower their rate of having Hitler take them over and to get back at Japan.
Fashion- The fashion statment for woen were "flappers" who wore short skirts and had bobbed hair cuts. For men they would wear what would show their status. The rich would wear fancy clothing and the poor would wear cheap clothing.
Women- The had to take the role of men at the homefront and but later on they had the roles of being a good house wife or a trophy wife.

This is a video on the women gymnastics in 1936 olympics. They had very slow working techniques and they played the parallell bars for men's gymnastics. This shows how women as well had to take on the role of men even in the slightest of ways. It also shows that even through hard times, entertainment like the olympics were still shown.
